Small ways to celebrate your move

Small ways to celebrate your move

Completing your move should be cause for celebration. After all your hard work of sorting out and packing up your lives, and making it through a busy moving day, now is the time for a little celebration.

With boxes that still need unpacking, and a home that may be in need of some work, a party may be the last thing on your mind, but there are still plenty of other possible ways to celebrate your new home and all your hard work. If you’ve just moved, here’s some quiet ways that you can unwind for an evening and celebrate a successful move.

Have a bath

If your new home has a bathtub, then having a soak in the tub the evening after your moving day can help you relax those tired muscles and prepare yourself for the unpacking and organising that will need to be done in the coming weeks. You may, however, have to fight it out amongst your family over who gets first bath!

Without a kitchen utensil unpacked, you should grab a takeaway on the first night in your new home. Getting your favourite Indian, Thai, or Chinese dish, or ordering a pizza is a small but perfect way of celebrating the first night in your new home.

Dining out

Planning a trip to a fancy restaurant is a great way to celebrate your move. Book a table and invite your friends and family so that everyone close to you can get involved in toasting your new home. Going out for a meal also means that you can say thank you to anyone who volunteered their free time to help with the moving process.

Popping the cork

Celebrating by opening a bottle of bubbly can be the best way to end a stressful day. Buy a bottle of champagne, or go for your favourite tipple and toast to your happiness. This is a great option for those who have limited time, as toasting your new abode doesn’t take long.
